MITAGS is pleased to announce two special events planned for June 2023 in honor of our 50th anniversary year. We reached this milestone year of operation in 2022, and we look back with gratitude as we recognize how we have grown as an organization since 1972. Many of you have been a part of our story over the years – whether you have attended training or a conference here, stayed at the campus Residence, or collaborated with us on innovative simulation research. We would love nothing more than for you to join us in June to mark the occasion of our 50th Anniversary.
On the evening of June 6, 2023, MITAGS and the Maritime Conference Center will hold a reception and open house. MITAGS friends, alumni, conference guests and campus visitors are welcomed to join us for refreshments, simulator and campus tours, and celebratory remarks.
On June 7th, MITAGS will host a luncheon and panel discussion, featuring leaders in the maritime industry, including Mr. William Doyle;, Executive Director for the Port of Baltimore; Mr. Anthony Fisher, Deputy Administrator, Great Lakes St. Lawrence Seaway Development Corp; and Rear Admiral Simon Hardern Royal Navy, from the United Kingdom’s Hydrographic Office.
MITAGS’s mission is to enhance the professionalism of mariners through the development of quality maritime leadership, training, education, and safety programs. So for this special panel discussion, we feel it is fitting to center on the theme of ‘Legacy and Innovation: Training the Next Generation of Mariners.’
