Course Description

This program is a comprehensive training portfolio consisting of two courses for a Marine Manager. The courses provide the necessary management skills to supervise and support ship operations, and upkeep and maintenance from ashore. This course is designed as per DNV-GL Standard DNVGL-ST-0009 - Competence of Ships' Superintendents - August 2014

Students will be able to:

  • Explain the company's responsibilities under Voyage, Time, and Bareboat charter

  • Explain the functional purpose of a Bill of Lading and Mate's receipt

  • Explain the significance of communication with port agents

  • Discuss the main clauses of Charter Parties

  • Explain the features of charterer's inspections with reference to SIRE and CDI, and vetting inspections

  • Prepare a vessel for On-hire, Off-hire and Bunker surveys.
