MITAGS is pleased to announce that Rear Admiral Benjamin Nicholson, Commander of the U.S. Navy’s Military Sealift Command (MSC) will attend the upcoming Mariners for America Conference.
As the operational arm of the Navy responsible for providing strategic sealift and ocean transportation for all U.S. military services, MSC relies on a highly skilled workforce of civil service mariners and industry partners. Admiral Nicholson will engage with maritime educators and stakeholders to discuss the evolving demands on sealift capability, the importance of mariner recruitment and retention, and the shared responsibility of maintaining America’s maritime strength
The Mariners for America Conference will bring together leaders from across the maritime industry, government, and education sectors to address workforce development, maritime security, and the future of the U.S. Merchant Marine. Rear Admiral Nicholson’s participation highlights the critical role that collaboration between industry and government plays in ensuring a strong, resilient maritime enterprise.
“The success of our national defense strategy depends on the readiness and dedication of our mariners,” says Conference Organizer Capt. Jon Kjaerulff. “Forums like the Mariners for America Conference provide an invaluable opportunity to collaborate, share best practices, and inspire the next generation of maritime professionals.”
