Train The Trainer

Train the Trainer
The United States Coast Guard's National Maritime Center (USCG - NMC) requires instructors to successfully complete an approved "Train the Trainer" course if the course they teach is NMC approved. MITAGS offers three different levels of training that have been specifically designed to enhance the instructor's effectiveness in the classroom.

Even though MITAGS' Train the Trainer programs have been designed for professional instructors, the courses are open to all deck and engine officers. For reference the Train the Trainer programs are listed on the MITAGS Course Schedule under the code "TTT." For the latest course convening dates, please visit the "Schedule and Registration" page of this website. This section also include an alphabetical "Course Description List." Following are a list of common "TTT" courses:

TTT:
Entry level Train the Trainer Course.
TTT-SIM:
Use of Simulation for Training. Entry level course is a pre-requisite for this program.
TTT-ADVANCED:
Refresher course for experienced instructors.
