The Maritime Institute of Technology & Graduate Studies (MITAGS) is seeking an Instructor to teach academic courses in the maritime field to Masters and Mates. The position requires a Master’s license – Oceans Unlimited, issued by the U.S. Coast Guard, as well as three or more years sailing as Master, preferably in the cruise line or tanker industry. The applicant should be well-versed in professional skills essential to the master/mate. An understanding and appreciation for the principles of Bridge Resource Management as well as a demonstrated drive and desire to teach is required. Good computer skills (MS Office) and excellent verbal/writing skills are a must. Experience as an Instructor or trainer, teaching professional courses to adults, is a plus.

This is a contractual position, with the possibility of becoming a full-time position, offering a competitive salary commensurate with experience. MITAGS is located just 15 minutes south of Baltimore, MD, and 5 minutes away from Thurgood Marshall BWI Airport.
