Course Description:                                 
This course is required for Able Seamen upgrading to Mate 200GRT or higher.  It provides students with a knowledge of the characteristics of various weather systems, reporting procedures and recording systems.  Additionally, attendees will be able to use and interpret information obtained from shipboard meteorological instruments.
