Our AB to Mate Program includes all the training and support needed to achieve a Mate's License. More importantly it provides the knowledge, skills and confidence to take on the duties and responsibilities of a Mate.NMC Policy Letter 01-02 describes the requirements for applicants for ocean or near coastal vessels of 500 or more gross tonage (200GRT) after February 1st 2003. It details the sea service, training and practical assessments that must be completed before an applicant can sit for the traditional USCG written exam.The following table lists the courses that we offer to satisfy Policy Letter 01-02. Most of the 78 practical assessments required are incorporated in these courses.
